Benefits of getting cosmetic tattooing
Putting on makeup every morning can be a hassle. Whether you’re tired of constantly having to buy makeup or have impaired motor skills, cosmetic tattooing (semi-permanent makeup) is a practical solution. During this process, we use tattoos to produce precise cosmetic designs that mirror makeup. Learn more about the many benefits of cosmetic tattooing below.
1. Enjoy Zero Maintenance
No matter how waterproof or smudge-proof makeup products claim to be, traditional makeup is susceptible to smearing. Semi-permanent makeup, on the other hand, is fully resistant to wear. You can take a dip in the pool, traverse sudden rains, and rub your eyes without having to worry about ruining your look.
2. Cut Down Costs
When you wear a full face of makeup on a daily basis, you could be spending thousands of dollars year after year. Getting permanent makeup is generally a one-time process with touch-ups every few years, depending on which features you’d like tattooed. You’ll significantly improve your budget when you can remove several cosmetic products from the shopping list.
3. Save Valuable Time
Makeup application takes a significant chunk of time out of your busy schedule. Many will wake up earlier just to put it on, leading to a lot of lost sleep. With cosmetic tattooing, you can get a full night’s rest and go through a shorter routine in the morning. Additionally, you won’t need to spend time scrubbing it off at night.
4. Ease Allergies
Those with skin sensitivities and allergies can face a lot of frustration searching for beauty products that won’t cause rashes or inflammation. Trying out different brands often causes breakouts you end up covering with more makeup. End the cycle of allergic reactions with semi-permanent makeup, which will give you the appearance of wearing makeup without the irritation.
5. Assist With Impairments
Many conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, and arthritis, impair motor skills and make it difficult for individuals to apply makeup. Everybody deserves to look and feel their best, and with cosmetic tattooing, you can have permanently gorgeous makeup without the fuss.
Who should get permanent brows and who is a good candidate for this?
Framing and balancing the face a well-designed and groomed brow can instantly give lift and emphasis to the eyes giving a more youthful appearance. Various concerns such as sparse, thin or naturally very light eyebrows can be addressed by adding fullness and definition without compromising a natural look. This procedure can mimic the appearance of hair in the brow or shadow.
Anyone who desires more fullness of the brows will love this procedure and the time saved not applying make-up. Those who used to apply brow pencil can go swimming, sweat, or wipe your forehead without the embarrassment of losing their eyebrows. Alopecia suffers are pleasantly surprised at how natural it looks. Most brow procedures require at least one touch up.
This amazing eyebrow treatment suits people who have an unflattering brow shape, have over tweezed or waxed, lack of hair do to prescriptions or chemotherapy, always had or are getting sparse areas in their brows that won’t grow back or just what to define and enhance their brow.
What is micro-blading?(aka hairstrokes)
“Hair by Hair” brows (also called 3D, HD, and feather brows) - Microblading is using a very fine blade to deposit pigments into the skin. It's more superficial than tattooing and with the color closer to the surface of the skin the strokes imitating eyebrow hair appear crisp and extremely fine, perfectly mimicking real hair. Getting Micro Brows is the best way to put the finest hairs back into eyebrows, providing the sharpest and most realistic definition and dimension possible.
Who shouln't get micro-blading?
⦁ Individuals prone to keloids, super thin skin, Rosacea or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Unfortunately, since Microblading punctures the skin with tiny needles, we cannot work with clients with these conditions. Ombré technique is suggested as an alternative method on a case by case basis.
⦁ Individuals with transmittable blood disease such as HIV or Hepatitis. Microblading artists cut into the skin so it is best to not work with these conditions for the safety of our clients as these conditions greatly impact the immune system and healing process of individuals.
⦁ If you’ve had Botox/filler in the brow area. We recommend to get Microblading first! Or we generally recommend clients wait 4 weeks after botox/filler before getting Microblading done.
⦁ Individuals undergoing active chemotherapy.
If you have any kind of skin condition near your eyebrows. eczema, shingles, rashes, or anything else near eyebrows.
⦁ Individuals with oily skin. Those with very oily skin and large pores are not good candidates for microblading. Those with less oily or combination skin, may consider other techniques we offer at the salon.
⦁ Individuals who are pregnant.
⦁ Individuals with dark pre-existing eyebrow tattoo. we require anyone with a previous eyebrow tattoo to send us an email with a picture of their eyebrows with no makeup on or book a free consultation.
What is ombre brows?
Ombre shading is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded brow pencil look.
What is difference between feather-touch brows (micro-blading) and ombre brows?
Tattooed brows, which were popular in the past, were permanent but provided unnatural look. Both ombre powder brows and micro-blading are semi-permanent, which means that after some time they will fade away. However, unlike tattooed brows, these treatments provide natural-looking eyebrows that are totally in style right now.
On the other hand, the techniques are done differently and give quite different results. Microblading means manually creating micro incisions on the surface of the skin and filling them with pigments. Every hair is created separately and the result is natural-looking trendy eyebrows. The process is perfect for people with dry skin, while those who have oily skin should opt for ombre brows.
Ombre technique resembles brow tattooing since it involves the application of thousands of tiny dots of pigment, inserted into the skin. However, unlike traditional tattooing, this procedure is done on the epidermis layer of the skin, thus making it less permanent. The result is solid-looking brows that look fuller and powdered. It is called ombre because the tail of the brow is always darker than the head. Also, if you choose this procedure, your eyebrows will always look as if you are wearing natural brow makeup.
What is 4D combination Brows?
Between you and me, the 4D combiation brow is my favorite. It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a combination of Microblading and Powder fill.
Pros: The combination of microbladed hair strokes and a powder fill gives an incredibly natural looking brow. It's a bit more defined and filled in than just straight microbladed brows, and a bit less solid and dramatic than the ombre powder fill.
Cons: The hybrid brow costs slightly more than the other two methods, but only slightly.
Who is it best for: I really love this technique for everyone to be honest. All brows are customized specifically for each individual client based on your desired look, skin type, coloring, bone structure etc. There are no two clients with the same brow design.
Perfecting Session
We will then see you in 4-8 weeks for your perfecting session. The time between appointments gives the skin time to heal and let the color settle. The second appointment will not take as long. We will see how your skin has held the pigment and can make any adjustments to color or shape as needed. But really this appointment is exactly as described- it's all about the perfecting of your new brows. Because everyone’s skin heals differently with different results the same amount of time will be scheduled for this session.
Your perfecting session cannot exceed 60 days from your first procedure date.
How long does healing take?
Healing usually takes about a week. However, please allow a few days if you have an event or special occasion coming up. We tell our clients not to micro-analyze their brows until 30 days that’s when you will know your completely healed pigment. Your new permanent eyebrow will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually, and you may see some pigment on your towel after washing your face, or on your pillowcase - do not be alarmed. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, the brows will look like they have dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly; however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your eyebrows. After a couple days, this will subside. Don’t pluck or scratch. Once completely healed, it’s highly advise to apply a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 up to SPF 50 on your eyebrows when exposed to the sun, as sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
Does it hurt?
In a word, maybe. But not that much. Numbing cream and gel are used liberally throughout the procedure and it's more uncomfortable than painful. Topical anesthetic works great for most people however; in case it doesn’t work great for you it is recommended to take a few TYLENOL, 30 minutes before your procedure.
How long do micro-blading last?
Everyone’s skin is different so it greatly depends on your skin composition and your healing process. No guarantee can be made that a specific client will benefit the same as another from this procedure. Micro-blading implant pigment into the basal layer of the epidermis; it is a form of cosmetic tattooing, using fine, delicate strokes to make the brow look as natural as possible. Other factors that play a role in longevity are skin color, the pigment used, thickness of the lines, and mostly how aggressive your immune system is in metabolizing the pigment. Factors such as sun exposure, BOTOX, AHA’s (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic and tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating, or lightening the skin can cause your MicroBrows to fade.

PERMANENT EYELINER
Eyeliner can be applied in many styles and colours, from soft, natural-looking lash enhancement to a defined line–the choice is yours! Some people feel both upper and lower eyeliner suits their needs best, while others feel only an upper or a lower eyeliner is appropriate for them. Whatever look you choose, you will wake up, shower, exercise, work, swim, and go to bed always looking your best. No more tattle tale eyeliner smear or smudge during the day, no more concern when participating in sports activities and best of all, your appearance remains consistently fresh throughout the day and night.
Who should get permanent eyeliner and who is a good candidate for this?
Is eyeliner important to your appearance and feeling of self-confidence? Does your eyeliner smudge? Does it wear off during the day? Do you have trouble getting it straight or even? Are you allergic to cosmetic products or are allergies causing you to re-apply several times a day? Do you have sparse eyelashes? Maybe your job requires that you go make-up free. If so… permanent eyeliner is perfect for you!
How long does it last?
Eyeliner procedure lasts about 18 months. Permanent makeup is "semi" and client results will vary. Commonly you will need a touch up at 1-2 years. Generally, the results are amazing but it very much depends on your own skin type, texture and oiliness. Aftercare must be taken seriously!
How long does the procedure take?
Your Eyeliner is broken up into two appointments - the first appointment and then 4 to 6 weeks later, a perfecting session. First Treatment: Please allow up to 1 hour for your first eyeliner appointment to be completed.
When you arrive at your appointment we will take a before picture and will chat about your desired look, colour and shape.
Most of the appointment time is spent waiting for numbing to take effect (this is a Lidocaine & Tetracaine based product.) During the numbing process (approximately 20 minutes) you will have time to relax. The tattooing itself is quite quick. Your skin may be a little tender to start with, but once the process is underway, Twe will use a different type of numbing gel which will be very effective as it penetrates the open skin, alleviating the discomfort for most clients thereafter. Once finished with the tattooing, we'll discuss aftercare, and take some photos to compare your pre and post-procedure.

What do I need to do before my eyeliner treatment?
⦁ Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen or have any alcohol 24 hours prior to and after your appointment.
⦁ Don’t wear eye makeup or contacts to your appointment
What is lip blushing?
It is a lip tattoo that enhances and defines your lips. It can help enhance and even out natural color, or add color if you are lacking any pigment. Your lips will look darker and more like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural looking lip tint. Apply a little gloss or balm and your lips are perfectly kissable!
How long does the lip blushing procedure take and whay should l expect?
The procedure takes about 3 hours. The consultation, lip design and prep work take a good portion of that time. I normally proceed the procedure after we have discussed your concerns and I've drawn out a shape that we are both on the same page before I start the procedure. Once we are both happy I will apply numbing cream for 20-30 mins then we will start the process. During that time the non toxic pigment can get in your mouth which doesn't taste the best, but is ingestible and non toxic :)
How do you choose the colour of the lip tattoo?
It’s all about a conservative approach. You want a shade that is wearable during the day and at night. Subtle colours can always be gradually enhanced over time but we never tattoo statement colours such as deep red. The most requested colour is a soft rose or peachy pink.
Can l get a lip blush if l have a dark toned lips?
Yes, however, on the first session we will have to color correct your lips to cancel out the dark/cool tones. This means the initial color we tattoo must be orange based pigments!
If we are to tattoo any other color you risk darkening your lips further or having absolutely no results at all. When healed at 6 weeks, most if not all of the darkness in your lips will be covered and your lips will have a nudey-pink even tone.
Note that results cannot be guaranteed and lightening or evening out dark lips may take a few sessions. Under no circumstances will we tattoo a "NUDE" color on dark or cool toned lips.
How long does lip blushing last?
Depending on your skin, health and if you come for touchup refreshers, your tattoo will last from 2-5 years.
Here are some factors will cause your semi-permanent tattoo to fade faster:
⦁ Oily skin
⦁ Retinol or Vitamin C
⦁ Iron deficiency
⦁ Sun exposure
⦁ Exfoliants
⦁ Exposure to salt water
Does lip blushing hurt?
It may slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. The tattooing process lasts about an 1 to 1.5 hour.
We know exactly how to minimise any pain derived from any procedure. Topical anaesthetics are always applied before and during your lip blushing procedure. Therefore, with our highly experienced and qualified cosmetic tattooing specialist at the procedure and our technique is extremely gentle, you will feel very little or none during the procedure.
If you are nervous about pain, you may take 1-2 Tylenol. Tylenol 30 minutes before your appointment. DO NOT take ibuprofen. It or drink a coffee before your appointment. Coffee and ibuprofen. It will cause you to bleed lots and also make you more sensitive during the procedure.
Does the lip blushing procedure trigger the cold sores?
This procedure can trigger cold sores for carriers of the herpes simplex virus. To prevent cold sores from flaring up it is recommended to go to your doctor and get Zovirax or another antiviral medication prescribed to take 5 days prior procedure, the day of, and 5 days after. Note that a cold sore outbreak can alter the healed results of the tattoo.
What's involved in the lip tattooing process?
Your prescribed topical anaesthetic will be applied to the lips to pre-numb the area. We then do a thorough consultation and design the shape using ultra fine pencils. The tattooing itself can take 1 hour to 1.5 hours. You feel pressure on the lips and buzzing from the machine.
For lip blush, can we go outside of the lip line?
Yes, only 2mm. The skin on the lips is not the same as on the face and things can look unnatural or get unpredictable when we tattoo too far outside the natural lip line.
Can l still get lip blush if l had lip filler?
Yes, only 2mm. The skin on the lips is not the same as on the face and things can look unnatural or get unpredictable when we tattoo too far outside the natural lip line.
Am l able to have the lip blushing treatment?
You may NOT have this procedure if :
⦁ You are under 18
⦁ You are pregnant or breastfeeding
⦁ Have been on Accutane within the past year
⦁ Have HIV or Hepatitis or any other infectious or viral diseases
⦁ Undergoing Chemotherapy
⦁ You are Epileptic
⦁ You are taking medications that may affect how your skin responds to blood clotting and healing.
⦁ You develop infections easily
What to expect after the lip blushing procedure?
⦁There will be moderate swelling, redness and bruising for the first 5 days.
⦁ Apply a Ziploc bag filled with water and ice for no more than 15 minutes at a time to reduce swelling.
⦁ During the initial healing period, there should be minimal scabbing or flaking of the skin. If there is scabbing or flaking, do not pick on it, and allow the scab or dry skin to come off on its own.
⦁ Expect the color to eventually lighten by up to 40% once the healing process is complete.
⦁ Color may appear uneven at different stages of healing. Be patient. This is a process that does not yield immediate results.

What is saline tattoo removal / lightening?
Unlike laser tattoo removal, the saline tattoo removal method is a safe and effective method that draws pigment up and out of the skin. Using a digital machine and needle the specially formulated high grade saline solution is tattooed into the skin drawing the pigment or ink to the surface causing it to scab.
How does saline tattoo removal / lightening works?
A natural saline solution called Li-FT is used, the solution is implanted with a machine over existing permanent makeup or small tattoos. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment. This process lifts the pigment out of the skin via osmosis.
Is saline tattoo removal safe?
This removal technique is safe for all skin types. The salt/saline tattoo removal is safer and has fewer risks of hypo/hyperpigmentation, blistering, and scarring than laser removal treatments. The skin may be re-tattooed once the area has sufficiently healed.
During treatment, the client should expect some minor bleeding and some bruising. The treated area will also be tender for a few days. The skin should scab over and heal over the course of a few weeks. Fading will happen gradually over several months.
The tattoo will become lighter and may possibly fade completely over time. This removal technique is safe for all skin types. The saline tattoo removal is safer and has fewer risks of hypo/hyperpigmentation, blistering, and scarring than laser removal treatments. The skin may be re-tattooed once the area has sufficiently healed.
Individuals who are willing to follow aftercare instructions are ideal candidates. Clients on blood-thinning medications or who expect immediate results are not ideal candidates for this treatment.
Clients should be realistic in their expectations. They should expect a lightening of the tattoo, not full removal. Clients should expect three to four procedures before they see desired results.
What is emergency removal?
Up to 48 hours after a client had a procedure elsewhere, a soak with Li-FT can be done. The skin has not fully formed its epidermal crust and will absorb Li-FT
Why saline over laser ?
⦁ Tattooing skin after it has been lasered is often unsuccessful due to scar tissue and an alteration to the skin by the laser
⦁ Laser can permanently remove brow hair
⦁ . May turn titanium black or gray -Laser pushes pigment back down into the body, Saline lifts it up and out of the body
⦁ Pain level is less than laser removal
