Do
• Follow the aftercare properly to allow your lips to heal as well as they should.
• Keep your lips as clean and dry, but moisturised, as you can for the first 5-10 days.
• Keep your lips moisturised with new paw paw cream or lip balm for the whole healing process
• Use an icepack (wrapped in something clean) or take ibuprofen if your lips feel swollen and there is bruising present.
• Use a straw whist drinking and avoid salty or spicy food if your lips feel tender for the first few days.
Don’t
• Touch, bite or scratch your lips – touching or picking could cause irritation, infection & loss of pigment.
• Exercise for at least 2-5 days after your treatment due to sweating. Gentle exercise is okay after the first few days.
• Put lip liner, lipstick, lip gloss, cleansers, lotions etc. on or close to your lips for 1-2 weeks to avoid irritation & cross contamination.
• Use saunas, steam rooms or swimming pools for 1 week due to sweating, risk of getting your lips wet & hygiene.
• Have facials or other face beauty treatments done for 1 week to avoid irritation & cross contamination.
• Have lip fillers or use sunbeds, chemical peels or any strong face treatment for 4 weeks as your skin will not be healed enough.

Other things that can contribute to premature fading:

Lip Blush Tattoo Healing Process
1 – 5 days: darkest pigment and scabbing
6 – 14 days: pigment may lighten
15 – 30 days: the intensity of the color increases slightly
30 - 62 days: touch up of the pigment.
During natural skin regeneration, after the recovery period treated area might appear lighter than the original.
Often, even with proper care, customers develop bald spots or loose original pigment which makes the treated area look uneven. It is absolutely normal because your natural skin regeneration is not a process that a technician can control.
Most customers need a touch-up after about 5-10 weeks to assure that the desired effect was achieved. Micropigmentation is a process, two or three sessions may be required to achieve desired results. It is not uncommon to lose 20-50% of the color after the first session.
Please remember that with the proper prep and aftercare routine, you will have much better results.
Tip: after the healing is complete the use of sunscreen or 50+ Lip balm is recommended to prevent fading. Don’t use harsh products in the treated area.
DO NOT TOUCH THE HEALING PIGMENTED AREA WITH YOUR FINGERS. THEY MAY HAVE BACTERIA ON THEM AND CREATE AN INFECTION
For the first 24 hours, rarely lymph fluids may appear on the surface of the brow. Check your brows every 2 hours minutes and take a clean/dry tissue and dab gently over the area. Please apply the aftercare ointment. Apply a very, very thin coat (a rice grain size) of the provided after care ointment.
After 24 hours: Minimal contact with water, if they get wet, be sure to gently pat dry. Resume normal face washing with a gentle cleanser, but avoid submersing them into or dousing them in water.
For the first 24-72 hours, brows will be the darkest at this point! They WILL lighten :)
Days 2-10: Continue applying a very, very thin coat (a rice grain size) of the provided after care ointment. 2-3 times/day and as needed (i.e., when it feels dry) for the remaining 7-8 days, or until you are done peeling. Discontinue applying intent after peeling has been completed.
To clean, always use a new, dry q-tip to wipe off the existing ointment that is on your brows, dampen another q-tip with just a little bit of water, and gently wipe clean. Pat dry with a clean/dry tissue and reapply the ointment.
If a slight crust appears on the pigmented surface, this is normal. Do not force removal by picking or scratching! You will remove pigment along with the crusting and create potential for scarring
You may begin to see peeling on or around Day 4 or 5. This is a normal part of the healing process on some clients.
ㆍ Keep showers quick and avoid facing the shower head.
ㆍ Sleep on your back to avoid pressure on your brows.
ㆍ Do not apply makeup over healing areas. Remember, the area is a healing would and needs to be free of bacteria.
ㆍ Avoid excessive sweating/exercise, sun, saunas, and swimming (including chlorinated pools or jacuzzis, the ocean, or recreational bodies of water).
ㆍ Avoid facials 6 weeks after your procedure.
ㆍ Avoid gardening and limit contact with animals near your face.
ㆍ There is no tinting of brows or lashes until brows are fully healed.
ㆍ Do not traumatize the procedure area while it is healing.
ㆍ Use a broad spectrum sunblock after the area has healed to slow fading.
ㆍ Do not use products containing AHA’s on or near pigmented areas, including glycolic or lactic acids or Retin A products (they will fade the pigment).
ㆍ Do not donate blood for one year after the procedure, per the Red Cross.
ㆍ Follow-up appointments should be scheduled between 5-10 weeks after the initial procedure. New procedures are two-step processes, and final results are sometimes not determined until the follow-up visit is completed. Do not judge your procedure while it is in the middle of healing process.
ㆍ Any operations such as botox, facial laser treatments, or chemical peels will affect the pigment from the procedure and the overall appearance.
In general, after SMP treatment, you would like to treat your scalp like an open wound.
Don’t wash your scalp and do keep it clean.
No chlorinated pools, saunas, steam rooms, or tanning beds for 30 days after your final treatment.
This will ensure a good, long-lasting result.
After your treatment, it is important to follow these short-term care instructions to allow the pigments to settle in.
1. During Your First 4 Days
The most important rule to take care of your scalp in this period is not to wash your head. After your SMP procedures, washing your head might seem to be very tempting, but don’t do it. In the first 4 days, your scalp is still sensitive and if you add water to your head, you can damage it. Besides, try not to shave your head and touch the treated area
2. Day 5 to Day 7
Throughout this period, you should avoid:
During the first 7 days, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and taking any medication as prescribed. You can gently rinse your scalp and clean the area with a wet cloth to keep it clean.
If you want to shave your head, now would be a good time to do it. It’s important to use an electric foil shaver. When you’re shaving your head, minimize any scabs that may still be visible on your head. You can apply small amounts of water to your head. At this time, you can get back to your showering sessions, but remember to take a quick, light shower, but stay away from sulfate shampoo.
3. Day 8 to Day 14
For days 8 to 14 after the procedure, your head should be looking much better and healing nicely. However, it is still healing. You should make sure that you’re still following an aftercare routine. In the next 5 days, you should still avoid the following:
If necessary, carefully shave or cut your hair. You can wash the treated area gently with water and soap. Applying a little bit of moisturizer will also enhance the healing stage during this period. But make sure it’s fragrance-free.
4. Day 15 and onward
After 15 days, your scalp may recover enough to switch to your daily routine. You may be scheduled for your next treatment session after 15 days. Before your next follow-up session, you will be asked to wash your head and shave your hair.
For long-term care, there are many steps and activities for you to follow:
If you want to keep your look fresh and new after your treatment, just keep following this guideline. After all, if you want the best results, some extra effort needs to be made.
