Saline cosmetic tattoo removal/lightening is a non-laser tattoo removal method that uses a saline solution to fade or remove unwanted cosmetic tattoos. This technique is also known as saline tattoo removal, saline tattoo lightening, or saline tattoo extraction.
The saline solution is made by mixing sterile water and medical-grade salt, which is then tattooed over the old tattoo. The saline solution works by creating a hypertonic solution that draws the ink particles to the surface of the skin, where they can be removed through the body's natural healing process. Over time, the tattoo will gradually lighten or fade, making it easier to cover up or remove completely.
Saline tattoo removal is a safe and effective alternative to laser tattoo removal, especially for those with sensitive skin or who have tattoos in sensitive areas such as the face, neck, or hands. It is also less painful and has fewer side effects compared to laser tattoo removal, such as scarring, blistering, and discoloration.
Up to 48 hours after a client had a procedure elsewhere, a soak with Li-FT can be done.
Once the skin is wounded(tattooed), we have a short period of time before the epidermal crust is fully formed. Until that epidermal crust is fully formed, the area will accept and absorb the Li-FT solution. It is best if the procedure is no more than 48 hours old. You may have some success up to 72 hours, but experience proves up to 48 hours will bring the best lightening and lifting results. If you have had your eyebrows done in the last 48 hours, you feel they were done poorly and you would like to attempt to lift the pigment out, Li-FT and the emergency removal technique we offer may be able to help you!
A natural saline solution called Li-FT is used, the solution is implanted with a machine over existing permanent makeup or small tattoos. Implanting the solution into the skin breaks up the healed pigment. This process lifts the pigment out of the skin via osmosis.
Yes, saline tattoo removal can be used to remove eyeliner and lip tattoos. Saline tattoo removal is a non-invasive method that involves injecting a saline solution into the skin to lift and remove the pigment. It is a gentle and effective way to remove tattoos, and it is particularly useful for delicate areas like the eyes and lips.
During the saline tattoo removal process, a technician will use a specialized tool to inject the saline solution into the skin around the tattoo. The solution will gradually break down the pigment, and the body's natural immune system will remove the pigment over time.
It's important to note that saline tattoo removal is a gradual process, and it may take several treatments to fully remove a tattoo. Additionally, the effectiveness of the treatment can vary depending on the type of ink used in the tattoo, the depth of the tattoo, and other factors. It's always best to consult with a licensed and experienced tattoo removal technician to determine the best course of action for your specific tattoo removal needs.
Skin type can affect the effectiveness of saline cosmetic tattoo removal in several ways. The two most important factors are:
1. Skin thickness: The thickness of the skin can affect the penetration of the saline solution. Thicker skin can be more difficult to penetrate, which may make it harder to remove the tattoo pigment. Conversely, thinner skin can be more susceptible to damage from the saline solution, which can cause scarring or other adverse effects.
2. Skin color: Skin color can also affect the effectiveness of saline tattoo removal. Darker skin tones contain more melanin, which can absorb some of the saline solution and reduce its effectiveness. In addition, darker skin can be more prone to scarring or discoloration after the treatment.
It's also important to note that different areas of the body may have different skin thicknesses and colors, which can affect the success of saline tattoo removal in those areas. For example, tattoos on the hands or feet may be more difficult to remove due to thicker skin in those areas.
Overall, while skin type can affect the success of saline cosmetic tattoo removal, it's important to consult with a qualified and experienced technician to determine the best course of treatment for your individual skin type and tattoo.
This removal technique is safe for all skin types. The salt/saline tattoo removal is safer and has fewer risks of hypo/hyperpigmentation, blistering, and scarring than laser removal treatments. The skin may be re-tattooed once the area has sufficiently healed.

Saline tattoo removal and laser tattoo removal are two different methods used to remove unwanted tattoos.
Saline tattoo removal involves injecting a saline solution into the skin to break up the ink particles, which are then naturally absorbed and eliminated by the body's immune system. This method is considered to be more natural and less invasive than laser tattoo removal. However, it can require multiple sessions and may not completely remove the tattoo.
Laser tattoo removal, on the other hand, uses high-intensity laser light to break up the ink particles in the skin. The laser breaks down the ink pigments into smaller particles that the body's immune system can remove. Laser tattoo removal is generally considered more effective and efficient than saline removal and can often remove the tattoo completely in fewer sessions.
Both methods have their advantages and disadvantages, and the best choice depends on various factors, such as the size, color, and age of the tattoo, as well as the patient's skin type and overall health. It is important to consult with a qualified and experienced tattoo removal specialist to determine the most suitable method for your individual needs.
Saline cosmetic tattoo removal is generally considered less painful than other tattoo removal methods such as laser removal. However, it is still a mildly uncomfortable procedure that may cause some pain and discomfort.
During the procedure, a numbing agent will be applied to help minimize pain and discomfort. (Client need to organize numbing cream for removal procedure. Please contact infinitycosmetictattoo@gmail.com.au for more info.
During the saline tattoo removal process, a saline solution is injected into the skin, which causes the ink to rise to the surface of the skin and scab over. The scab then falls off, taking some of the ink with it.
While the procedure itself is not usually described as painful, the discomfort can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the size and location of the tattoo, the depth of the ink, and the individual's pain tolerance.
It is common for the treated area to be red, swollen, and tender for a few days after the procedure. Some people may experience itching or a burning sensation in the treated area as well.
If you find a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner who is aware of your skin type and medical history, then having any type of removal treatment should be a safe process. You should always do your research and choose the right practitioner for your needs.
How many sessions it will take to lighten any one procedure will depend on many different variables including but not limited to; aftercare, saturation, how deep the work is, whether the client has oily skin, how many layers of pigment and placement of the tattoo. It’s impossible to predict how many sessions a client will need. Although many times we achieve amazing results in just2 to 3 sessions, it is not uncommon for certain procedures to take up to 6 sessions to reach the desired lightening result. Even if a certain case takes 6 sessions to reach the lightening result that we want, that is often faster than laser or similar. Results vary from person to person. Clients should typically expect between 1-6 sessions before they see some results. 8 weeks are required between each session.
Both saline and laser are well-respected methods of removal. Both can be amazingly effective and provide the results you are hoping for. Saline and laser couldn’t be more different so how do you know which method would be best and most effective for you and your particular case? The information listed here will hopefully provide some insight and help you to choose the method of removal that will best suit your needs. Laser works by producing a short pulse of intense light that penetrates deep enough down into the skin, then is absorbed by the pigment. The intense light breaks up the pigment into tiny fragments. The laser pushes the tiny fragments back down, deeper into the body to be removed by the body’s lymph and waste system. Different laser wavelengths target specific colors at specific depths in the skin. It can take several laser wavelengths to remove a multi-colored tattoo. Due to the variables and restrictions of many lasers, it is important to do your research and pick the right laser for the tattoo you want removed. The healing process is about 7 to 10 days. With some lasers, you may experience blisters, if so that could prolong the healing process. Li-FT saline removal works by Osmosis. The high concentration of salt draws the water underneath and surrounding the pigment up to the surface of the skin to be contained and removed by the scab. So, whereas Laser pushes pigment back down into the body to be removed by the lymph and waste system, saline moves the pigment up and out of the skin via the scabbing process. Saline is not color restricted and will remove all colors including white (titanium dioxide). Saline is also not depth specific, meaning it will target and start lifting pigment/ink no matter the depth that it resides. Li-FT Saline solution is implanted into the skin in the same way we implant pigment or ink to do a semi-permanent makeup or body tattoo procedure. We use our tattoo machines, dip our needle into the Li-FT solution and then tattoo it into the area of the unwanted procedure or tattoo. The healing process is about 7 to 10 days. Saline removal does not cause any blistering when aftercare followed correctly. Laser can permanently remove brow hair. Saline will not effect your eyebrow hair at all. Tattooing skin after it has been lasered is often unsuccessful. Saline removal tends not to effect the skin or cause scarring if aftercare followed correctly. Laser cannot be used on the lips. Li-FT saline solution is safe and effective in removing lip and eyeliner tattoos. Both laser and saline are relatively close in cost and require several sessions. Lasers can cover the surface area of a large tattoo much quicker and more efficiently than the Li-FT saline removal technique. Li-FT will take much longer to remove a large tattoo.
